My wood supplier called this wood "chocolate drizzled myrtle wood", which is an apt name. Myrtle wood is usually much lighter in color, but the environment in which a tree grows can affect the coloration. It's a gorgeous piece of wood, so I kept the design simple. I gave the bowl and interesting shape and a red stripe, but otherwise let the beauty of the wood shine forth.
