I found a good use for little scraps of wood -- make then into Tumi Ishi blocks! These are wooden balancing "stones" from Japanese tradition. The blocks I've made thus far range from a little under 1 inch to a little over 3 inches along their long axis.

Since I lacked something for storing the blocks, I also made a large wooden bowl from maple. To color the rim, I smeared watercolor paint straight from the tube onto it.
