This piece was an exploration of organic forms. The base is reminiscent of the roots of a cypress tree.

The darker touches were burned into the wood with my torch and the green is watercolor paint smeared into the wood. The thin dark lines were burned into the wood with my wire garrote while the wood was spinning on my lathe. The piece was then finished with tung oil. I've included a glass candle cup in case people want to use it as a candle holder.
