This special Christmas cutting board is wonderfully hefty and includes 3D Christmas trees inset into the sides! Most of it is made from elm, a wood I'm really coming to like. I find the variations in its grain beautiful. The board includes a couple pieces of purpleheart and two thicker pieces of sapele. The sapele even exhibits some chatoyancy! The trees are made of maple. I turned a tree on my lathe and cut it half. In order to cut it, I had to make a cute little cradle to hold the tree as I fed it through the saw.
