For me, this piece speaks of power. This woman stands confidently, letting her inner glory shine forth.

Her dress is made of maple burl and claro walnut. Most of the dress is maple burl; and I used the natural edge of the burl as the bottom of her bias-cut upper skirt. The bottom skirt is claro walnut, colored with lightly tinted shellac. Her head is sassafras, also colored with tinted shellac; and her hair is bhilwara, tinted with many layers of differently tinted shellac. The sash at her waist is watercolor paint.
